In this book, full of birds and delicacies, a wise swallow changes paths, a wingless turtledove wants to be a poet. And poetry germinates... inside us!

DENTRO E FORA an exploration of the new in Bruna Lubambo's work An exhibition of originals that brings together images produced by Bruna Lubambo for various illustrated books. The work of this young author from Minas Gerais, who has illustrated more than 30 books and is the sole author of three works, is strongly characterized by the versatility of techniques and aesthetics. It is as if in each book Bruna chose to explore something completely different from the previous one, in terms of technique (ink, cyanotype, engraving, clay, painting on leaves) and also in terms of form and content. There are books that portray fauna and flora, and those that take place in the intimacy of the home. There are those organized by mirroring the images, and those that extend in a single direction, like the river. There are those that invite us to look up and flap our wings. There are those that are born from below, from the earth and clay. “Inside and outside” is a playful exhibition of a selection of Bruna Lubambo’s work to date, with emphasis on the books: Dentro de casa, Quiquinho e Piopio, Contos de Cabra e Bode, Asas, Mundo Inseto, Baticum e o tambor real and O tio + Oito.
BRUNA LUBAMBO was born in 1989 and raised in Timóteo, in the interior of Minas Gerais. At the age of 18, she moved to Belo Horizonte, where she studied Social Communication at UFMG. In 2018, she began illustrating and writing books. Her work has been recognized in various awards and selections: she was a finalist for the Jabuti award three times (2020, 2021, 2022); she illustrated books considered “the best of the year” (2021) by Crescer Magazine and as “Highly Recommended” (2020) by the National Foundation for Children's and Young Adult Books (FNLIJ). In 2021, 2022 and 2023, Bruna had eight works awarded by the Unesco Chair of Reading Seal PUC-Rio.
These are those created with techniques and materials that use the most rigorous criteria today to achieve an impression with museum longevity.
The papers are 100% cotton. The inks, which are made of mineral pigments, are not soluble in water, therefore they do not fade. And the color fidelity, by using RGB, is much greater than common printing.
A work printed in fine art, therefore, deserves to be signed and numbered, and can last a lifetime.
